About Us

We are a small, specialist SEMH school committed to transforming the educational experiences of young people who have found mainstream settings challenging. Our pupils are taught in very small groups, within a calm, supportive environment, where relationships, consistency, and high expectations underpin everything we do.

Our staff team is friendly, committed, and highly supportive, working closely together to ensure that every pupil feels safe, understood, and able to succeed. As a growing school, we are excited to offer opportunities for professional development and progression, with staff playing an active role in shaping our future.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Teacher of Maths to work within our CUD (Catch Up and Diagnose) provision, teaching Key Stage 3 pupils working below age-related expectations.

This is not a traditional teaching role. It requires a teacher who can:

  • Deliver highly personalised Maths lessons based on each pupil’s current level

  • Teach foundational skills with creativity, patience, and flexibility

  • Support learning across other subject areas where required

  • Build strong, trusting relationships that re-engage pupils with education

You will play a key role in helping pupils close gaps in knowledge, overcome barriers to learning, and accelerate progress towards age-related expectations.

What is our CUD (Catch Up and Diagnose) programme?

Our CUD provision is designed for pupils who require targeted support to rebuild their learning foundations.

This involves:

  • Diagnosing gaps in knowledge, understanding, and skills

  • Identifying barriers to learning (academic, emotional, or behavioural)

  • Delivering precisely targeted teaching at the pupil’s current level

  • Supporting pupils to make rapid and sustained progress back towards age-related learning

Teaching in this provision is highly adaptive, requiring careful assessment, creativity, and a strong understanding of how pupils learn.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a teacher/NQT who:

  • Has experience teaching Maths (KS2/KS3 experience is highly beneficial - this could include QTS placements)

  • Is confident adapting teaching for pupils working below age-related expectations

  • Has a strong understanding of differentiation and formative assessment

  • Can build positive, consistent relationships with pupils

  • Is calm, resilient, and solution-focused

  • Is willing to contribute to a team approach and support across subjects where needed

Experience in SEMH or SEND settings is desirable, but more importantly, we are looking for someone with the right mindset, flexibility, and commitment.

Why Join Us?

  • Small class sizes (typically 3–6 pupils)

  • A supportive and collaborative staff team

  • Opportunities for professional growth as the school expands

  • The chance to make a genuine, lasting difference to pupils’ lives

  • A role where you can teach creatively and flexibly, without the constraints of a traditional classroom

Safeguarding Statement

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff are expected to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
